Introduction to K403 Master Alloy Bar Factory

K403 is a nickel-base precipitation-hardening equiaxed cast superalloy comprehensively strengthened by multiple alloying elements. It features a high volume fraction of γ′ phase formed by aluminum and titanium, providing excellent elevated-temperature mechanical properties and creep resistance below 1000°C.

As a master alloy bar / casting rod, K403 offers superior fluidity and castability, enabling the production of intricate precision castings with complex geometries. Typical lasting strength reaches approximately 150 MPa at 1000°C for 100 hours. Density is about 8.1 g/cm³ and melting range is 1260–1338°C. The alloy is widely used in Chinese aero-engines and gas turbines as a cost-effective, high-strength casting material for critical hot-section components.

Product Features of K403 Master Alloy Bar

√Aerospace-Grade Thermal Stability: Maintains high stress-rupture strength at 900°C-1000°C, ensuring the structural integrity of turbine vanes.

√Ultra-Low Gas Inclusion (VIM): VIM refining ensures oxygen < 15ppm, preventing porosity and slag inclusions in thin-walled blade castings.

√Optimized Hot Corrosion Resistance: Balanced Chromium and Cobalt content provides a robust passive layer against hot gas erosion.

√Precise Solidification Control: Engineered for predictable shrinkage and high fluidity, critical for maintaining tight aerodynamic tolerances.

FAQs:

1.How is K403 better for blades than K418?

K403 contains Cobalt (9-11%) and higher Tungsten, which offers superior thermal fatigue resistance and higher stress-rupture strength at temperatures above 950°C.

2.What is the typical diameter for blade casting feedstock?

We commonly supply Φ50mm to Φ90mm rods, but Φ31mm ingots are also available to fit specific vacuum induction furnaces.

3.Do you provide stress-rupture data for every batch?

Yes. Every heat is verified with a 900°C stress-rupture test, and the specific rupture time and elongation are included in the MTC.

4.Is K403 suitable for guide vanes in gas turbines?

Absolutely. K403 is one of the most widely used equiaxed alloys for stationary guide vanes due to its dimensional stability under heat.

5.How do you handle export compliance for aerospace alloys?

We conduct thorough dual-use item reviews and provide all necessary RoHS/REACH and chemical analysis reports to facilitate smooth customs clearance for US and EU markets.
